I love Gospel music! The Old gospel Music. The songs that lift the soul and sometimes brings me humbly to my knees before a Gracious, Merciful God! There’s an old song that’s been playing in my head that I can’t find anymore. I think it was called “Battle Scarred Soldiers”. The lyrics go something like this, “Lift up your

eyes you battle scarred soldier, it’s worse now than ever before, He will return before the new dawning, His coming is nigh at the door”.

The words are so true, it is worse now than ever before, and there are so many battle scarred soldiers out there. We see war everywhere with our natural eyes, but sometimes as Christians we forget that our war is not carnal but spiritual, as Paul wrote:

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

As we stand defending our faith against the, “rulers of the darkness of this world”, try not to look at the flesh but the spirit that is guiding and sometimes possessing the physical body, and even the very soul of those that come against us, and those we must come against. Paul tells us also to do all that we can to stand:

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Doing All

We see today in this country that battle going on with street preachers being put in jail for preaching the “Good news of truth and freedom”, to those “rulers of Darkness” passing laws against God’s word! We have to remember it’s not weather we win the legal battle, or weather we are put in jail, IT’S THE STAND part that matters! We must be faithful to the cause for our reward is great!

Mt 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

When the battle is great and you feel worn and weary remember what God has prepared for us!

1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

The rulers of this world still do not know! It is our appointed time to be the living sacrifice that God has appointed us to be, it is our “reasonable service”:

Ro 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Lift up your eyes you battle scarred soldier His Return Is Nigh At The Door!

Lu 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
